Oloden

The Olodens are a species of super intelligent eel like creature. They are aquatic creatures who utilize robotic suits to enhance their mobility when out of the water.

Overview

The Olodens are a race of intelligent eels that originated from the planet Dreponite IV, a water-covered world with deep oceans and diverse marine life. They are known for their adaptability, resilience, and ingenuity, as well as their bioluminescent skin patterns and electric organs. Olodens have a strong sense of curiosity and discovery, and many of them have developed advanced technology to explore and colonize other worlds, especially those with aquatic environments. However, they also have a profound respect and appreciation for their native planet and its ecosystems, which they consider sacred and precious. Olodens often wear robotic suits or exoskeletons that allow them to move and manipulate objects on land or in space, as they lack arms or legs. These suits are customized and personalized to suit their preferences or needs, and often reflect their status or affiliation. Olodens are generally peaceful and cooperative, being one of the friendliest and most helpful species in the galaxy.

Physiology

Olodens have an unusual body composition compared to most other space faring species. Their body is a single long cylinder that averages 3 meters long and 0.3 meters in diameter, at one end is their tail which simply tapers down in diameter until it reaches a point. At the other end is their head which is slightly larger in diameter than the rest of their body, and consist a large mouth which reaches almost entirely across the front of their head. Attached to their sides just below where the head begins are two prehensile tentacles. They have three eyes, one of which is able to interpret the visible light spectrum as we know it, two to process UV light.

Olodens have both an array of dull molars for grinding plant matter and small shellfish, and the ability to filter feed to filter nutrients from the waters they live in.

Their skin most typically comes in shades of gray or tan, but depending on the water conditions and depth that there were born at they can come in a large variety of colors. Their fins are most often short, but come in a variety of shapes and lengths.

Olodens have an organ within their body which allows them to generate electricity, this organ is located just behind their head and connected to their prehensile tentacles. This allows the Olodens to generate and provide electricity with a simple touch.

Lore

Culture and Society

They are a curious species always seeking answers, but they are also a very kind and helpful species. While most Olodens have teeth capable of crushing shellfish, most choose to only eat plant matter or filter feed. The Olodens live in large communities deep beneath the tides of Dreponite IV. Their communities are usually organized by field of scientific interest, but family ties also have a part to play.
